People of Politics. I love this county and the people in it. I care about our traditions, our history, or way of life and the sense of community that makes our county special.
I am tired of politics being placed above the people. We need representation that speaks for us not at us. It doesn't matter to me if you wear a red shirt or a blue shirt every person has a voice and that voice should matter. I believe that we can build a future that honors our past, maintains our sense of community while strengthening the generations to come. I want Clark County to be a place that my grandchildren want to call home.
For most of my life, I belonged to a political party, but over time I have learned a simple truth: people are far more important than politics. I have sat across from politicians who are supposed to work for us, and I have tried to be a true voice for the majority of the people in our area. That is why I am running as an Independent. We need representation that speaks for us, not at us. It shouldn’t matter what color shirt you wear—every single person has a voice, and every person deserves to be heard. I am not running to serve a political party; I am running to serve the people who live right here. I have already proven that I will stand up to any party, and my decisions will always be based on what our community wants, not on party labels.
Decisions about our community should be made right here by the people who live and work here. That is why I have gone directly to the Statehouse to speak out against bills that try to strip away our local control—even when those bills were sponsored by members of my own party. I have stood at the Governor’s Mansion to share the real, everyday concerns of my neighbors and our community. If elected, I will use the Commissioner’s platform to speak loudly and clearly against politicians in Indianapolis who think they should be making the decisions that affect us here at home. I will always stand up for our right to make our own choices, because no one understands our community better than we do.
I believe Clark County should be a place that every single one of us is proud to call home. To make that a reality, I will always put our community first. In every budget decision I make, my top priority will be the real needs of our families, our seniors, and our hardworking neighbors. But putting community first also means making our county government truly accessible and responsive to you. If you take the time to come to a commissioners' meeting to share a concern or comment, you deserve to be heard. I believe the Commissioners should be required to address your input at the very next meeting after we have had time to review it. Your voice matters, and it is time we had a local government that listens and answers to you.
Supporting our veterans is deeply personal to me because my father was a veteran. We are fortunate to have a great Veterans Service Office here in our community, but we have a real problem when our local heroes are forced to sit in that office waiting for hours and hours just to get help. I know this firsthand because I have personally sat in that office waiting for an appointment. While waiting, I listened to our veterans and heard their struggles. We owe it to them to fix this issue and ensure they get the timely support they earned. If elected, I will work hard to address these wait times, because taking care of our veterans is a duty we must honor.
For the past several years, I have dedicated myself to staying active in our county’s issues and local conversations. I regularly attend meetings, listen to your concerns, and work alongside my neighbors to understand what matters most to our rural areas. Whether participating in discussions at the Statehouse, sharing feedback at the Governor’s Mansion, or collaborating locally, my focus has always been to show up, listen, and make sure your voices matter. Our county makes its best decisions when everyone is heard. That is why I am fighting for more community involvement. I want to create open, welcoming spaces—through local events, surveys, and town-hall conversations—to make it easier for you to share your ideas and experiences. Strong communities grow from effective communication, and I am ready to make sure your voice is always part of the conversation.
Every time I drive down Highway 62, I see and feel the frustration that so many of us in Clark County are experiencing. Right now, the rapid development around River Ridge is bringing us heavy traffic, uneven growth, and a real lack of clear communication, while the actual benefits are hard to see. The money flow is confusing, and the immediate impacts are hurting our quality of life and making our county unaffordable. I understand that we need growth, but it shouldn't come at the expense of the people who live here. If you elect me, I am going to dig in, ask the tough questions, and work to fix this. We need responsible growth that respects our community and keeps Clark County a place we can all afford to call home.
